Keychain SolidWorks Render
Keychain Engineering Drawing

Overview

Turned a hand-sketched concept into a fully defined mechanical design for a small assembled keychain. Built a parametric SolidWorks model with all key features including body, loop, fasteners, and gear detail, with clear assembly intent throughout.

Design Process

Created fully dimensioned drawings from hand sketch to lock geometry and features

Modeled in SolidWorks with proper constraints and relationships so edits propagate reliably

Designed internal mechanism and fastener layout for manufacturability — accounting for clearances, fits, and assembly order

Generated detailed 2D drawings with critical dimensions and tolerances for fabrication

Results

Build-ready documentation package including 3D model and 2D drawings

Consistent, editable design thanks to parametric relationships

Parts fit and assemble as intended with adequate clearances and specified tolerances

Reduced fabrication risk and smoother assembly on first article
